Informatics for Healthcare 2022-23

Elective Unit led by Dr Alessandro Bruno

Informatics for Healthcare is meant to provide students with those fundamental theoretical and practical aspects of computer science, which will help them with several tasks as future medical doctors.

Spanning computer architecture, computer components, information encoding, introduction to programming languages, spreadsheet functions for information extraction, introduction to AI and Big Data Analysis, the students will feel confident with working in a digitised working environment.

Lectures and practical sessions will have students deal with theoretical aspects and hands-on sessions. The latter is meant for students to run through some specific functions to extract knowledge from data, read biomedical images and understand the overall structure of a Database.
